home Below is a list of all html tags with links to their page on this site, W3 C.org and. W3 C is the principle organization that sets standards for HTML. While I like what they are doing with HTML5, W3 C's site is next to impossible to navigate and their language tangled at best. However, they are the powers that be. As a web designer you will eventually find yourself on their site. You may as well start now. I often use W3schools as a reference site, plus they have good intermediate level tutorials. In fact I recommend them as a good site to continue your studies after you have gotten the basics down here. Below I have links to the appropriate page on this site, on W3 C and w3schools. There are a number of elements that do not yet have a page on this site, and therefore don't have links. I will add them as the site grows. Below you see elements in grey, red and pink. Elements in grey are in previous versions of HTML, but are not supported in HTML5. 1 Elements in red are new to HTML5 and have broad browser support. Elements in pink are new to HTML5, but don't yet have broad browser support. The tags: home May the line of least resistance lead me on. Delbert Mc Clinton This site is hosted with bluehost. Older browsers, most notably IE 8.0 and earlier, do not support HTML5. © Duncan Aitken • Barrio Jucanya, Panajachel, Guatemala C. A. • Atitlan Design •.
Opinions Had I still worked at Roche, Damian's book would have been a simple recruitment test: only those who read it front to back get the job. Paul Czerski, UX expert Damian's book is amazing and it's definitely a title that will help a lot of people. I wish I could learn HTML and CSS all over again just so I could use it. At least I can recommend it to all my friends! Peter Mierzejewski, front-end developer I cried when I wrote it. Damian Wielgosik, author Get more free books! §1– Introduction §2– Semantic Markup §3– Forms §4– Media §5– CSS3 Transformations And Animations §6– Just Enough Javascript §7– Creative Canvas §8– Where Next? You’ve heard of it: HTML5. Everybody is using it. It’s being heralded as the savior of the Internet, allowing people to create rich, engaging web pages without resorting to using Flash and Shockwave. But what actually is it? Well, that’s not an easy question to answer. In this HTML5 tutorial, we’ll try to provide some answers. HTML5 is used to describe a really diverse group of things. It’s a standard of writing web pages. It’s a collection of APIs. It’s a new way of adding interactivity to web pages. HTML5 is all that and more. So what’s this book about? In this HTML5 tutorial, I’m going to assume that you at some point have touched on HTML and CSS. Perhaps you’ve created your own Word Press theme, or edited a My Space layout back in the day. Perhaps you’ve read Make Use Of’s very own XHTML guide. The point is, I’m assuming that you know your way around a web page and that what we discuss in this guide won’t be too alien to you. The aim of this guide is not to teach you the entirety of HTML5. That would be entirely out of the scope of this book. The aim is to provide a gentle introduction to these amazing new web technologies, and to show you some cool ways of incorporating them into your websites. It’s a fair question. In a world of smartphones and apps, is it really important to learn how to program web pages? Well, believe it or not, it’s really common to write smartphone applications using HTML5 technologies. Until recently, the Facebook app for Android was written using HTML5, CSS and Javascript. Blackberry is another major company that is immensely keen on HTML5. This is obvious in the latest iteration of their mobile operating system, Blackberry OS 10, where they are actively encouraging developers to develop.
