I cannot seem to find or get the required drivers for Intel Centrino Advanced- N + Wi MAX 6250 on windows 8 64bit on my Dell N7010 Laptop I have wifi connectivity but all i get is max G speeds and no N speeds, transfering files on mapped drives is really slow as a result, this wasnt the case before, i dont care about wimax, but even those drivers would be appreciated incase i decide to sell in future.
intel wifi/wimax 6250 supported? hi all i have sony vaio vpc-s notebook with intel wifi/wimax 6250 card integrated in. Ubuntu detects card but when i trying to up interface, driver faults with error - firmware file iwlwifi-6050-4.ucode not found. Who knows when support for this card will be available in ubuntu? Intel has a strange way of 'supporting' this card. It's recognised by the kernel module but the microcode that makes the card work hasn't been released yet. They say sometime in third quarter. Hi usctrojan, I just downloaded iwlwifi-6050-ucode-.tgz from Then extracted and copied, /lib/firmware/ Code: sudo cp iwlwifi-6050-4.ucode /lib/firmware Then reboot, or reload the kernel module Code: sudo rmmod iwlagn sudo modprobe iwlagn It worked ok from there, although perhaps not completely reliable. I was having to unload and reload the kernel module after.
