A little history is needed. What do think might have caused this. Any changes to your computer OS; which are you using? How long since your Go 530 has been updated (both maps and app.)? I don't think having a missing SD card would cause this. A friends card may not work depending on whether he has the same model or not, and if any of the maps were purchased, I doubt it would work any way. As I mentioned I tried following the email instructions by reseting and reinstalling software on the windows vista OS recently but the red cross keeps flashing on the screen? Possibly the internal memory has failed? the x20 series and x30 series have a bit of a reputation for this. I've been running my 530 from an sd card for several months and updating it via a card reader/writer. I can't even use the 530 to write to the sd card. If you have a full back-up, download it to an sd/sdhc card, insert it in the 530 and see if it boots. hi, when i press my on off button and keep it pressed it takes me to a black screen with white writing, on the 14 line where it says start up mode next to it it says power down and some times it says sleep, is this normal, or is it telling me why my tomtom is not booting up, any suggestions.please help?
